Cobham is seeking a Quality
Inspector for our Concord, CA location
Responsible
for ensuring components and assemblies meet company standards. Inspects production materials as well as
engineering or unreleased product. May
audit material at suppliers as well as audit supplier quality control programs.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Samples and tests
components and assemblies
- Performs set up and
inspection of complex materials, assemblies or products
- Performs supplier
source inspections and works with suppliers and other groups inspecting and
determining the disposition of materials
- Supports MRB process,
ensuring proper segregation, identification, and disposition of discrepant
material
- Updates quality
database(s) as required
- Provides support to
Engineering on First Article Inspection Plans and inspection of unreleased
product
- Creates and updates
inspection documentation as needed
- Reviews inspection
documentation accompanying material to be inspected to ensure compliance to
requirements
- Provides training and
assistance to other inspectors on inspection procedures and processes to ensure
consistent inspection methods
- Adhere to and support the company’s Safety Health
& Environmental (SHE) program
- Determines acceptability and identifies and recommends
disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures
Minimum
Requirements:
- High School or GED education
- Three years’ experience as a
quality inspector or related role
- Ability to read, analyze, and
interpret technical procedures and drawings.
- Ability to interpret basic
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing information on drawings
- Ability to effectively present
inspection results and respond to questions from assemblers, Engineers and
suppliers.
- A thorough understanding of
inspection techniques as well as judgment and initiative to help define
problems and recommend possible solutions
- Experience with various metrology
equipment and calibration techniques
- Ability to run a CMM is a must
.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- AS degree
- ASQ standards or a certification
