Cobham is seeking a New Product Introduction Planner at our
Concord, CA location
The NPI
Planner plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of
products through the complete product development cycle. The NPI Planner plans
works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish
production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. Maintains and
works to ERP system. Coordinates
production plans to ensure materials are provided according to new project
schedules. Evaluates Engineering Changes
for the planning department and provides feedback to the Engineering and
Planning groups to insure smooth product transition.
The NPI
Planner coordinates with the Engineering Project Manager and Master Scheduler
when work begins on newly designed assemblies and tools. This position also coordinates production via
the Master Production Scheduler (unless being produced on the Pilot line) as
well as purchasing, Central Inventory for kitting, and manufacturing resources.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Work with Master
Scheduler on logistics of making systems
available to Pilot line
- Interprets
engineer change orders and assists in getting internal parts reworked
- Maintains work
orders as required to meet the new project schedule.
- Attends and
represents Planning at weekly Engineering, Pilot Cell ECO and New Project
Release meetings.
- Works directly
with purchasing to coordinate possible shortages on purchased parts.
- Coordinates
customer owned material flow into pilot cell.
- Reviews
Engineering Changes and follows instructions provided to insure proper
transition to production.
- Maintains open
communication with purchasing to ensure the purchasing department is
providing accurate and timely effectivity data, to make certain the NPI
Planner can communicate the effectivity data back to Document Control for
ECO implementation.
- Signs off on all
material movement for non-production use.
- Resolves any work
order material discrepancies.
- Resolves any work
order financial discrepancies.
- Represents
Planning at material review board and provides documentation for reworking
of assemblies as required.
Minimum
Requirements:
- 5
years of experience with technical projects planning and new product
introduction planning in a manufacturing setting
- Ability
to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, and technical procedures
- Ability
to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
